Fashion and New York are like…synonymous. I was pretty excited to experience the extent of this, starting with Fashion’s Night Out and topping the week off with my first fashion show!
Fashion’s Night Out
Fashion’s Night Out is essentially a night where stores will open until late, offer you cocktails, food, some places even karaoke, and celebs. Its their attempt at getting us impressionable consumers nice and liquored up, and tricking us into believing we can afford and need that $10,000 purse. On NY budgets, most regular people can’t do this, so you store-hop, drink the free cocktails, eat the free food and pretend to be interested in purchasing things that are too rich for your blood.
Lydia, Gloria, and Christine were in town and we started the night out at Bloomingdale’s

Donald Glover (!!) and Rachel Zoe were the celeb appearances. Rachel Zoe is great, but if you know me, I’d much rather make up a a silly rap song with Donald than gab about stilettos with Rachel Zoe, so I did what I could to meet the man and then magic. OK - I’m not kidding, we had some intense eye contact and then there was a window of opportunity, and I said “Hi, I’m Liz.” We talked about Twitter and I was *this* close to singing - “Troy and Abed in the MOORning!” I didn’t though…

falling in love…
After you romp around all the stores, you usually head to a FNO after party. A few confused conversations about the location of the party later, we found ourselves at Ed’s Lobster Bar instead - which was probably the most legit after party of the night. Lobster roll, fries, and a root beer.
Fashion Show!
My roomie Serena had an extra ticket to the Anna Sui show at the Lincoln Center and I quickly accepted her offer to attend. I got to the Lincoln Center a bit early so I sat on the steps to people watch and soak everything in.
Pre-Show Observations:

Fashionable people getting photographed. This is after they were all taking pictures of me, of course.
