As you can tell from my past blogs, I had some really lofty goals as a kid. I mean, success meant:
I mean, really high right? Last week’s adventures followed suit when my friend Phil visited. What I did takes high to a new level. I’m talking lofty. I’m talking take pictures and blog about it high. I’m talking Bed Intruder run and tell that homeboy high. I’m talking….OKAY - I’m talking…the best stupid idea I’ve ever had:
Peeling back the foil from the corner of a Hershey’s bar and taking a huge bite.
Tell me you didn’t see Shaquille O’Neal do this to a crunch bar when you were a kid and wish you could do the same. TELL ME you didn’t imagine the chocolate tasting even more delicious by peeling the wrapper in the aforementioned way. TELL ME you thought you had the will power and precision to do such a thing.
As I was walking through Times Square with Phil - I remembered that I wanted to do this, marched into the store, bought a chocolate bar for almost $4, walked to the stairs that everyone seems to take pictures on in Times Square, and I did it. I did it!
Regarding my childhood aspirations and the expected emotions - well - after the whole adventure - I felt nothing like Kazaam and the chocolate, to my great surprise, tastes exactly the same as it would taste if I peeled back the wrapper like normal people do.

Quite the nice corner if you ask me…

“Taking a bite” non-candidly

AND THEN, I realized I was doing it wrong the whole time and that I’m supposed to take the actual Hershey’s wrapper off and just keep the foil. Brilliant.
