Don’t ask me why - but I always glamorized eating Chinese take out straight from those white wire handle take out boxes like the folks above. I had always seen on tv and movies - girl friends getting together for a night in and suggesting “Chinese?” having girl talk in their pajamas (my favorite outfit) on the couch in front of the tv (my favorite pass out location). Back home, the only thing I could really order and have delivered to my home was pizza so those days where I wanted to have a Chinese take out moment - it could never really happen.
Ordering take out in New York is next level. Using Seamless Web - I can enter my address, see which restaurants are delivering to me at that particular hour, see which dishes get high ratings from a particular restaurant, pay for my food (including) tip online and simply wait for my food to come within a reasonable time frame. You can order almost anything! Perfect for a lazy day.
The catch? Most food comes in these plastic containers (pictured below). This means that I can’t live my dream of eating straight out of the take out box. The good thing though - and I’ve seen most people here do this - is reusing the containers as tupperware for leftovers.
