How to know a date is going well…

I guess having good chemistry is undeniably evident. So if you’re curious how a date is going, and its going well…someone will let you know. I’ve had a few spectators on some dates that have confirmed good chemistry but also created a few good awkward date moments.

Example 1 - You know each other long time? :

Group and dude and I are sitting in a circle chatting. The attention turns to me and the dude and we are asked…

Spectator: So did you two grow up together?

Me & the Dude : Oh actually, we just met a few months ago…

Not too bad. Didn’t make for an awkward situation AND we get along like we’ve been friends for a while! Good sign.

Example 2 - A bro’s thumbs up :

Dude and I are sitting at the bar at Angel’s Share and I notice a bearded man look over my direction several times. I thought it was weird at first that his eyes and ears were literally locked in our direction but figured maybe he was just awestruck from seeing me or something. I leave to use the bathroom. This is how the conversation went according to the Dude…

Bearded Man Spectator: Hey man, are you guys on your first date?

the Dude: Uhm *muffled response* (*It wasn’t the first)

BMS: Well, just letting you know…its going REALLY well *thumbs up and cheesy grin*

So he was just eavesdropping…can’t say I wasn’t disappointed when I found out he wasn’t just trying listen in for the best opening in the conversation to get my autograph. Despite the disappointment, thumbs up from a man with a beard? Great sign.

Example 3 -   :

Dude and I are at a food event and we get to talking/making friends with some strangers. We talk about the food, living in New York, their relationship (they are a couple) and how they met and then we get asked…

Couple Spectator: So, how long have you two been married?

Enter: Screeching brake sound…

Me & the Dude: Oh no, we are not married…

We don’t have any of the 3 rings of marriage (engagement ring, wedding ring, suffer-ring —teehee), we look like we’re 12 and we get asked how long we’ve been married. I guess a question about the length of our “marriage” could be an amazing sign but that was just plain weird.
