Westville Restaurant - 210 West 10th Street
I usually do a good amount of research on a restaurant before dining there. When my friend Christina came into town and Steph and I were choosing where to take her, we chose Westville knowing friends had recommended it, but without doing a ton of review reading. What we knew about this place though, was that the star of the menu are the different fresh market vegetable options. That expectation was definitely met with the options we tried: Artichoke hearts with parmesan, roasted zucchini with mozzarella and cherry tomatoes, brussel sprouts with honey dijon, sauteed kale with shallots, roasted beets with goat cheese. I’m positive I’ll be back again.

Post Office - 188 Havenmeyer St.
Post Office was a great “stumble upon” bar Michael and I tried after dinner at Diner (my February Favorite Things “Eat” feature). Post Office is a whisky-only bar that is low lit, adorned with post office decor, of course, and brags tasty mixed drinks. I ordered a peach drink that was light and perfect for summer and even made me - whiskey hater - a believer.
