I went downstairs the other week to do laundry to find that the coin slot on the laundry machine was jammed. Not sure why, but the other machine had white paint in it and I didn’t want to risk ruining all the running shorts (that I practically live in) and my extremely expensive, one of a kind, sleep shirts, of course, so I had to think of another way. I’ve always heard about this but I definitely did not know how to approach this - call someone to PICK UP your laundry, DO your laundry, FOLD your laundry, PACKAGE it in a neat square, and DROP IT OFF at your apartment? I was feeling extra lazy because it was after my Chicago trip so I decided to do it.
I ended up calling 5+ laundromats and they all didn’t pick up at my apartment but eureka! found one. These places generally charge by the pound - I think an average is probably 80 cents a pound. So the total for my laundry ended up being around $20 for my laundry. Although it was actually pretty awesome not having to move and have my laundry done, next time I face this situation, I will probably be getting off my lazy glute to do it myself at a coin laundromat.
